Question by Moody: How do I get my android installed on my labtop?
I pulled out an old labtop which is probably 5 years old(im guessing) and tried to hook up my android phone(htc droid eris). When it tried to install the hardware for it to work it couldn’t find anything. It is a compaq presario v2140us. Please help me.

Android simply will not work on labtops. Never has,never will. labtops are ghetto. what you need is a LAPTOP. I suppose the best place to start looking would be at their support site.
